Eclipse of the heart

Mr. & Mrs. Mannion say ‘I Do’ at The Cyrus Place

When we asked Margaret & Sean why they choose The Cyrus Place as their wedding venue, Margaret explained, “We searched all over the Indianapolis area for the perfect place. When we saw The Cyrus Place, we just knew!”

To go back to where it all started, we have to visit their college days where Margaret & Sean were studying abroad in southern France. After spending 6 months getting to know each other in the beautiful Aix-en-Provence, Margaret and Sean went back to their respective universities (IU and UW) for a year of long distance. After graduation, they took a leap and moved to Chicago where they further built their relationship & lives together.

Fast forward to the 2017 solar eclipse. Sean took the event as an opportunity to propose on the sandy shores of Promontory Point beach in Chicago. Margaret shared, “We watched the sun disappear next to the water, and then he got down on one knee. At one point I asked him, ‘What are you doing?!’ It was a total eclipse of the heart! ;)”

Margaret & Sean’s wedding day was nothing short of romantic, with a light and airy feeling brought out in their decor, cake, and florals. Wood Creek Florals were responsible for the table decor, ceremony setting, and all the cakes! MBP helped kick off the reception with delicious appetizers followed by an exquisite dinner. Finally, we can’t forget Amy & Brian from Rogue Art Photography, who were there to capture the couples’ entire wedding day experience.

Last but not least we can’t neglect to mention how family oriented the planning of this occasion truly was. Both Margaret and Sean’s parents were with the couple every step of the way. Additionally, Margaret’s brother & Sean’s sister worked together to perform the perfect ceremony as officiants - how sweet is that?

Friends upon friends abounded in the couples’ wedding party as can be seen in the fun-filled wedding party photos. The bridesmaids chose beautiful burgundy dresses from Weddington Way and the men were dressed in dapper suits from The Black Tux. Margaret found her dream dress in Nashville Tennessee at Fabulous Frocks - we haven’t seen anything like it before or since! Sean found his stylish attire at SuitSupply.

When we asked Margaret & Sean what they remembered most about their wedding day they shared, “Jillian (the Venue Manager) doing literally EVERYTHING possible to make the day perfect. She was on top of it and had all the answers. We loved having the bridal suite and the man cave on site so we didn't have to coordinate moving around the city. We took some of our photos in the Lockerbie neighborhood and it was SO CLOSE which also made things super easy.”

We were honored to be part of such an amazing wedding experience and wish the Mannion’s nothing but the best as they start their journey together as husband & wife!
